2. Ned Kelly

Australia's modern day Robin Hood. Considered to be a cold-blooded killer by some and a hero of the Resistance against the Anglo-Australian ruling class, you'd be a hit with crowd if you go as this icon in a suit of armor.

3. Mad Max

A film starring Mel Gibson, based around the traditional western genre. Mad Max was one of the breakthrough films in Australian cinema and paved the way for further opening up the global market to Australian new wave films.

4. Skippy the Bush Kangaroo

A children's television series produced from 1966-1968, it tells the story of a young boy and his intelligent pet kangaroo. Everyone loves a cute little pet, so why not be one for Halloween!

5. Lifesaver

One of the largest community service organizations in Australia, lifesavers surf and rescue are the real life Baywatch bodies. Originated in 1907, they have been saving lives and helping out communities throughout the years. So if you're daring enough to dawn a bikini on Halloween, by all means do so.

6. The Tasmanian Devil

A carnivorous marsupial now only found in the island state of Tasmania, the Tasmanian Devil is known to be part of Australia's history, even Warner Bros. took advantage of this notoriety and created a cartoon character based in the animal and make sure to go as that or else you might scare other people.

7. The Delltones

A popular Australian rock and roll band, you and your friends can suit up just like them and serenade the town with their hits. The Delltones have been entertaining their fans for 5 decades, why not dress like them and entertain the town for one night? It wouldn't hurt anyone!

8. Shrimp on the Barbie

This is a twist on the original 'Shrimp on the barbie', it's more for couples; one can be the shrimp and the other the Barbie (the doll). It's a cute way of spending Halloween with your significant other.

9. Swagman

Swagman is a term for workers who have no permanent home and who travel all around the country from farm to farm carrying a bag made of cloth called a swag. They also wear a hat made of cork and use it to ward of the flies.

The most iconic wildlife warrior from the land down under, Steve Irwin was tough and wasn't afraid of anything but was also a caring and loving man. If you can't be like him for 365 days, then at least you have the chance to be for one.
