Swollen Private Parts Send 2 Couples to ER

Risky sexual practices continue to fascinate couples even if they could end up in embarrassing and even life-threatening situations. Two such couples in the US were in that situation, causing them to end up in the emergency room with the men nursing swollen private parts.

Their stories were also featured in the TV show Sex Sent Me to the ER, reports the New York Post. The TLC show returns for its second season on a Saturday at 10 pm. While many of the stories on the show - which are reenacted - range from funny to dangerous, one thing common among them is that some of the people involved end up with red faces, if not redder genitals.

The first couple are bandmates in Queens, New York, who after a rehearsal, found themselves alone at a Long Island rehearsal studio. The pair, 40-year-old Andrew and 29-year-old Francine, decided to have sex behind the drums so that the large instruments (the drum sets, that is) would provide some cover in case of sudden and unexpected visitors.

Because of their intense lovemaking, the pair fell asleep naked on the sofa and woke up early morning, jolted by Andrew rolling off and hitting his chin on a coffee table.

Besides discovering blood on his lower face, Francine also noticed Andrew's private part swollen the size of an orange. Since the situation meant that he could not wear his skinny jeans, Andrew borrowed Francine's flower-designed skirt and the pair went to a hospital for treatment.

Andrew's chin required seven stitches, while after three hours and lab tests, the doctor told him he is suffering from orchitis, an inflammation that results in intense pain. Francine shared that the injury was possibly cause by the angle they had during coitus as she sat on top of Andrew who sat on a stool with no cushion.

Andrew had to take antibiotics for one week to reduce the swelling and stuck an ice bag inside his pants while performing. But the embarrassing incident didn't slow down their sex life, said the couple who has not made love again near the drum set.

In the second incident, a lawyer ended up in ER with his testicles the size of a softball. He declined to give doctors details of the accident, but the medical team eventually discovered what transpired.

The swollen balls were the result of the wife kicking her husband, a lawyer, on his groin after she caught him having sex with his mistress. The other woman was not aware that her lover is married.

While waiting for the surgery on the man to finish, the wife and the mistress had a chat, until their topic touched on the man's infidelity. The pair ended up divorcing, with the mistress even serving as the wife's lawyer.

Other couples featured in the second season premiere, which airs on Nov 15, includes a fireman in Denver who suffered a locked jaw and sent to the ER for treatment after a sex toy brought by his girlfriend stuck inside his mouth.

But some NYPost readers found the article unbelievable. One reader questioned why would the doctor allow other people inside the treatment room while discussing the patient's sexual practices?

While most of these stories could sound like too incredulous, medical science has records of some ailments such as penis captivus which recently affected a young Italian couple who made love while in the sea.
