The latest episode of “Supernatural” Season 10 focuses on the return of the “Father of Murder” and the Mark of Cain storyline.

The time came for Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) to face the original owner of the Mark of Cain in “Supernatural” Season 10, Episode 14 titled “The Executioner’s Song.” Actor Timothy Omundson returns to reprise his role of Cain, the “Father of Murder.”

Warning: Spoilers ahead! This feature contains major spoilers on “Supernatural” Season 10, episode 14 titled “The Executioner’s Song.”

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) find out that Cain (Timothy Omundson) is back after a death row inmate named Tommy mysteriously vanished from his cell. Dean recognizes the “Father of Murder” through the prison’s surveillance camera.

The Winchester hunters have been calling Castiel (Misha Collins) for any lead on Cain’s whereabouts but the angel is not answering Dean’s calls. Cain has been busy torturing a demon for information on Cain.

Then, Dean receives a phone call from Castiel who tells the Winchester brothers that he is in Illinois. The angel further confirms that Cain has been busy killing people and Tommy, the death row inmate, is one of the bodies that Cain buried in a field.

Castiel asks what Cain has done and the “Father of Murder” explains that he is cleaning up the mess that he made a long time ago. Then, Cain asks how Dean is doing but he figures out that the hunter is not doing well because of Castiel’s facial expression.

Castiel reveals that Dean is losing his fight against the mark and they need to find a cure. However, Cain informs Castiel that there is no cure for the mark. “I’m living proof of that,” Cain tells Castiel.

Sam, Dean and Castiel find out that death row inmate Tommy had a son and Cain will be after the child to fulfill his mission of eradicating his descendants. Dean plans to use the kid as bait so he will be able to do what he has to do which is to kill Cain but Sam is worried about Dean facing Cain because his brother may not be able to come back alive from their fight.

Dean needs the First Blade to defeat Cain so he contacts Crowley (Mark Sheppard). The King of Hell continues to bond with his witch mother, Rowena (Ruth Connell), who now has influence over his son’s decision while conducting meetings with his demons.

Rowena wants her son to help her with her Grand Coven issues but Crowley decides to help the Winchesters first because Cain is a bigger threat. Crowley hands the First Blade to Dean but he wants Dean to return the weapon to him after he is done with his mission.

Crowley helped in creating an illusion of Tommy’s son and trapping Cain inside a barn. Dean finally faces Cain.

During their faceoff, Cain notices that Dean is holding back. Cain points out that Dean has been living his life in reverse.

Then, Cain explains to Dean that his story started when he killed his brother, Abel, and that is where Dean’s story will inevitably end. “It is called the Mark of Cain for a reason,” Cain tells Dean. Cain reveals that he is saving Dean from his fate where he will kill Crowley first, then Castiel and then lastly, his younger brother Sam.

Dean notices a knife inside Cain’s jacket and grabs it to cut off Cain’s hand before the “Father of Murder” kills him with the First Blade. Dean picks up the First Blade and stabs Cain at the back with it.

Crowley returns to his kingdom empty-handed and disappointed because Dean handed the First Blade to Castiel. Crowley tells his mother that he is not in the mood to hear her “I told you so” speech but Rowena still pointed out to her son that he has the crown and he is called the King of the Hell but he is not really a ruler.

At the Men of Letters bunker, Castiel asks Sam how his brother is doing after Dean declared that he wanted to go to sleep for four days. “Cas, Dean is in trouble,” Sam declares with a worried look on his face.

“Supernatural” Season 10 will return with a new airing schedule starting March 18, 2015.
