Electronic Arts (EA) has confirmed a 2017 release for “Star Wars: Battlefront II” and it will reportedly be released during holidays, this time of the year. EA’s Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen revealed this during an investor call when an analyst asked about a possible release date of the game.

His reply was “a year from now.” EA had earlier announced the “Star Wars: Battlefront 2”game about six months ago. It also talked about a sequel to be released in November, just ahead of the “Star Wars Battlefront” movie. Jorgensen had also expressed his interest in taking cues from the new movies and added that the game would have bigger and better worlds.

Now, he has specifically mentioned the release date of the game and it’s a year from now, reports Gadgets 360.

“We’re working very hard on making sure that is an extremely deep and engaging offering,” Jorgensen said.

Fans are expecting a single-player campaign now for “Star Wars: Battlefront II” as the 2015 release was only a multiplayer affair. “Star Wars Battlefront” had incredible sound design and graphics though the game was not able to make a mark due to the price and numerous downloadable content it came with.

Visceral Games’ third-person Star Wars action game is being worked upon by Jade Raymond and Amy Hennig and it is very much on track. Even though it has not been officially announced, it is expected to hit the shelves in 2018, writes PC Gamer.

“We've talked about an action title that's not yet announced, but we're very excited and that's a good chance that that will fall into fiscal 2018,” Jorgensen added.

“Star Wars Battlefront” released in November 2015 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. The same is expected for the “Star Wars: Battlefront II” game as it will reportedly be released same time next year.
