The Sony will launch the Verizon bound Xperia Z4v, which is the U.S. variant of the Xperia Z4. Though unconfirmed reports suggested that the Xperia Z4v will be launched as an exclusive to Verizon on August 13, Sony’s public relations agency has clarified that no official announcement regarding the launch date has been made yet.

However, Xperia Z4v was earlier confirmed for its Verizon launch. Neither Sony nor Verizon have revealed any details about the smartphone but considering the smartphone to be anything like the previous Sony Xperia Z3v, the Xperia Z4v could sell for $199.99 with a two year contract, reports iDigitalTimes.

The Xperia Z4v, which measures 144.4 x 72.3 x 8.6 mm in size features a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1,440 resolution screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, a 3000 mAh battery, Qi and PowerMat wireless charging support, 3 GB of RAM, a 20.7 MP main camera with support for 4K video, a 5 MP front camera and the usual connectivity interfaces like 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, reports 9 to 5 Google. The publication also mentioned that the smartphone will be available in white and black color options.

According to a report on Digital Trends, some of the other key features of Xperia Z4v include 4G LTE, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, NFC, PS4 Remote Play and support for High-Res Audio. The smartphone also features an auto headset optimization mode, which adjusts the audio based on the headphones used and to the users’ ears and adapts to any flaws that it figures out. But what comes as a demerit to the smartphone is, it is relatively thicker at 8.6mm, compared to the Xperia Z4 that features a thickness of 7.3mm.

The smartphone is expected to come to be available during summer, however, Sony and Verizon are yet to confirm the exact price of Xperia Z4v, reports Digital Trends.
