Sony joined other sponsors on Sunday to call on soccer's rulers to deal thoroughly with allegations of bribery to secure the 2022 World Cup for Qatar, an issue overshadowing this week's kickoff in Brazil. With its four yearly showpiece event only four days away, soccer's governing body FIFA is on the defensive, conducting an internal investigation into the decisions to hold the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 Cup in Qatar. The upcoming PS4 2.0 software update has been teased way back by Sony, and the biggest new feature coming may be Share Play, which transforms the PS4 into a virtual couch. But more than that, there are a few more features that Sony has just detailed.

PlayStation Blog Europe

listed down the new features coming with the PS4 2.0 software update, which is still codenamed Masamune. According to the latest blog post, the PS4 2.0 software update will include the USB Music Player so that PS4 owners can play their own music in the background using the new feature. This will support a wide array of filename extensions, including mp3, mp4, m4a and 3gp.

Another new feature is the friend finder, which will allow the PS4 to recommend players, including those who may be close friends of their existing PS4 friends. PS4 players will also have the ability to change colours of the home screen. Now players will have more than the light blue background to choose from; seven colour options will be available: gold, red, green, pink, purple, blue and gray.

Live broadcasting will also receive improvements once the PS4 2.0 software update debuts. The Live from PlayStation app now allows PS4 users to select a Featured channel for official broadcasts from PlayStation, broadcasts from another person's friend list and other game channels that the user is following. There will also be filters for searching broadcasts. There will also be changes in the content area, the library and voice commands, particularly enhancements in the features.

Apart from the PS4 2.0 software update, Sony may also be aiming to get more of its customers from the mobile department with the appeal of game streaming from the PS4. It appears that the remote play feature on particular Sony smartphones and devices have been leaked by Sony itself via the Xperia Lounge app, reports XperiaBlog.

The PS4 Remote Play already exists for the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, so Sony may just be expanding the reach of the PS4 Remote Play in terms of smart devices. The source adds that the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet will be getting PS4 Remote Play this November.

There is speculation that the compatibility for the PS4 Remote Play will be made possible by the Android 4.4.4 update. The feature is also slated to launch onto the Sony devices next month, so best to watch out for more confirmations from Sony.
