The latest variant of the Samsung Gear VR is reportedly only functional with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. This device is a virtual reality tech that sports a mobile headset form – dubbed as the “Innovator Edition.”

At a price of $200, users of the Korean tech company’s latest flagship smartphones can try out the brand’s first smartphone-based virtual reality. Even if the device continues to be a developer-focused device, CNET has reported that Oculus, the maker of the gadget's virtual reality software, has promised to deliver something for consumers later this fall. For now, though, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 users can enjoy an engrossing VR experience that they can easily take anywhere.

This virtual reality technology is very easy to use as users will only have to attach their smartphones to the front portion of the headset. The smartphone’s 1,440 x 2,560 pixel display will serve as the headset’s screen. Tech Times has stated that Samsung has been launching new content for the Gear VR through its Milk VR platform.

According to Samsung, this particular platform gives VR users unique experiences of running with bulls, performing onstage with a multitude of selected musicians, and even snowboarding on the Alps.

For maximum enjoyment, it is advised that VR users take time for setting up. First and foremost, it is important that gamers have a general idea of how much space is available around the chair. Moreover, the chair must also be swivel-type in order for full appreciation of the game’s range of motion. Spatial awareness is very important, considering that the snugness of the headset on the face blocks out all outside light sources.

Furthermore, the new Gear VR version is also reportedly 15% lighter than its predecessor model. Apart from the weight, its straps have also been developed so that it is much easier to adjust.
