Android 5.0 releases SDK Google

Latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop LMY47V firmware version installed on Samsung Nexus 10 can be now rooted using the SuperSU rooting kit. Users can also install the ClockworkMod custom recovery required for flashing many custom ROMs.

Requirements:

1. Use this rooting kit for Samsung Nexus 10 tablet only running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop LMY47V firmware version.

2. Create a backup of all data files stored on the device before performing the rooting procedure.

3. Battery level must be at 50 per cent to avoid power interruptions during the installation.

4. Enable USB debugging mode on the tablet found in the Settings menu.

5. Download and install the USB drivers for Samsung Nexus 10 on the computer.

6. Download and setup the Android SDK on the computer.

7. Download the Fastboot tools appropriate for the OS running on the computer – Windows, Mac and Linux.

8. Download the SuperSU version 2.46 and the ClockworkMod custom recovery on the computer.

Warning: We are not responsible for any errors which may occur on the device. Read and follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the tablet. Do this at your own risk.

Flashing Instructions:

1. Connect the Samsung Nexus 10 to the computer using a USB cable and copy the SuperSU zip file downloaded earlier to the internal storage.

2. Extract the Fastboot tools and ClockworkMod recovery zip files downloaded earlier to the “android-sdk-windows/platform-tools” directory on the computer.

3. Switch off the Samsung Nexus 10 tablet.

4. Now boot into Fastboot mode by pressing and holding the volume down and power keys at the same time.

5. Go back to the computer and open the “android-sdk-windows/platform-tools” folder. Right click on the folder and open a Command Prompt.

6. Type in the following command lines excluding the quotation marks:

“fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-manta.img”

7. Once the ClockworkMod has been installed, select Recovery under the Fastboot menu on the tablet.

8. Inside the Recovery mode, you may create a backup of the ROM before rooting it for safety reasons. Select “backup and restore > backup” to save a copy of the current ROM. Use the “restore” option revert the changes.

9. For rooting, select “install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > find the Update-SuperSU-v2.46.zip” file and confirm the installation.

10. After the installation, go back to the main menu and select “reboot system now.”

Samsung Nexus 10 is now rooted and using the ClockworkMod custom recovery which can be used to flash custom ROMs and apps requiring root access. Root status can be verified by downloading the Root Checker app. For more details, visit the official page by Team Android.
