Prince Harry And Meghan Considered Naming Royal Who Expressed Concern Over Archie's Skin Color

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle considered dropping the name of the senior royal who allegedly made a racist remark about Prince Archie.

The new epilogue of “Finding Freedom” revealed new details about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their bad experiences inside the Palace, including the discrimination and racism Meghan had mentioned in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

During the said interview, Meghan claimed that a senior member of the royal family had raised his or her concerns about how dark her son would be. The royal in question allegedly questioned how dark Prince Archie’s skin might be since Meghan is half-Black. While the Duchess did not name the family member, she said it was neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Phillip.

According to “Finding Freedom” co-author Omid Scobie, Prince Harry and Meghan had initially thought of naming the senior royal in the interview but ultimately changed their minds.

“The couple did consider the options when it comes to revealing the name of the person who had made the racist comments about the color of Archie’s skin,” he wrote.

“Unfortunately, it has left us with this very unfinished situation where we don’t know if it was perhaps a future heir to the throne that made those comments. If that’s the case, then technically, we, the British public, do feel we have a right to know. The Queen made it clear it was going to be discussed privately. But at the same time, we haven’t seen the royal family condemn racism in any way,” he explained.

Shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview, the royal family released a statement saying they were saddened by the issues raised by the royal couple.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” read the statement.

The Palace also promised to take the issue of racism “very seriously” and to address it as a family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members,” the statement concluded.
