'Person of Interest' season 5 episode 12 spoilers: Finch’s goes on a deadly mission to end the Samaritan in penultimate episode ‘.EXE’

“Person of Interest” (POI) Season 5 Episode 12 spoilers, titled “.EXE,” will be airing on June 14. It is the second to the last episode for the season and for the series, as well.

The upcoming episode will have Finch (Michael Emmerson) breaking into a maximum-security facility owned by the government. Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) try to catch up with him, in an attempt to save him. Finch decides to break in to accomplish a mission that may end the Samaritan. However, the mission may be deadly for him. More so, it may be detrimental to The Machine, Cartermatt says.

Looking back on Episode 11, Finch, Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) and Reese all teamed up and had difficulty defending the President of the United States. Viewers are left with the question of what happens next. It is speculated that the events in “Synecdoche” prep the viewers for a bigger battle in “.EXE,” the upcoming episode.

The synopsis and trailer for the show exude an ominous tone. It is hinting that POI Season 5 will be featuring three deaths. Most speculations say that the episode is hinting on the death of the main character and maker of The Machine, Harold Finch.

It is also believed that plans will not be properly executed for Finch’s mission. This is further strengthened by the statement that the mission may lead to the ultimate death of the key players the Samaritan, Finch and even The Machine.

Considering the previous events, Finch may not be in the proper state of mind yet. It is said that it may not be the right time for him to undergo a dangerous and sensitive mission. The recent death of his teammate Root (Amy Acker) still affects Finch a lot. Even though Root emerged to become The Machine and its voice after death, it is still a different situation. Finch may exhibit reckless and impulsive decision-making, which may further lead into disaster and ultimate destruction.
