Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Originals" Season 2, episode 7 titled "Chasing the Devil's Tail."

After trying to get in Elijah's mind to break Esther's spell, Klaus notices there is a mark on brother's neck that can be cured with a plant that their mother uses. Klaus steps out to find the plant in the bayou while Hayley promises she will not go after Esther but she will on everything that the Original witch loves.

Hayley reminds Jackson (Nathan Parsons), who is grieving over Oliver's (Chase Coleman) death, that the werewolf pack needs their Alpha. Then, Hayley teams up with Aiden (Colin Woodell), Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Josh (Steven Krueger) and Cami (Leah Pipes) to go after Esther's right hand man, Finn Mikaelson (Yusuf Gatewood). Cami uses her charm in making Finn Mikaelson, who is in her college advisor's body, ask her out on a date.

Kol Mikaelson (Daniel Sharman) tries to convince Davina (Danielle Campbell) that they need each other when it comes to their goal of taking down Original hybrid Klaus Mikaelson. However, Esther interrupted Kol and Davina's conversation when symbols appeared on Kol's arm meaning the Original mama witch wants her son to come home. Esther reminds Kol that she wants the White Oak Stake especially now that she is aware of Mikael's (Sebastian Roché) presence.

While searching for Elijah's cure, Klaus bumps into his biological father, Ansel (Lloyd Owen), who happens to know where the plant is located. Ansel revealed that he helped Esther in collecting the plant every time she puts Mikael to sleep.

Klaus only sees his father's return as part of Esther's plan to change him but Ansel insists his intentions for his son are pure. The two were able to somewhat bond while collecting the cure for Elijah but Klaus had to make another drastic action in order to protect the people he cares about.

Klaus finds out that Ansel knows about his daughter Hope being alive so the Original hybrid killed his own father without hesitation. Klaus believes Esther will use Ansel to get to his little girl.

At the cemetery, Kol finally reveals to Davina his secrets which include being a witch first that created dark objects before turning into a vampire and knowing Davina's ancestor, a witch named Mary Alice Claire. Then, Kol teaches Davina how to create a dark object and finally showed to the young powerful witch the dagger he has that he wants to use on his hybrid brother, Niklaus.

At the Preservation Hall, the plan to take down Finn Mikaelson started with Cami as the bait. Hayley had to bite Cami to make the attack look more convincing so Finn will save his blonde date. Finn, who is working on a locator spell to find Cami, contacts Aiden to inquire about the traitor member of the werewolf pack.

Finn figures out that Aiden is teaming up with the vampires and hybrid Hayley so the Mikaelson sibling used his witch powers to strike back. Finn was about to take out Hayley's heart but Jackson arrived just in time to shoot arrows at the witch. Then, Cami placed a chain on Finn's hands that will prevent him from using his witch powers.

Klaus arrives home to put on the cure on Elijah's wound. This time, the Original hybrid succeeded in entering Elijah's mind to break Esther's spell on him and wake him up. Elijah finds out that Klaus had to kill his own father in order to protect his daughter from Esther.

Elijah tells Klaus that they must act before their mother strikes back at them especially after Klaus left his father's dead body at the Lafayette cemetery for Esther to see. Marcel and Hayley revealed to the Mikaelson siblings that they worked on a plan while both of them were preoccupied.

Klaus and Elijah find out that Hayley and Cami succeeded in capturing Finn while Marcel captured Kol when he was in the attic with Davina. However, the group was not aware that Esther retaliated quickly and her target was Cami.

"The Originals" Season 2 will return with episode 8 titled "The Brothers That Care Forgot" on Monday night, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
