Novak Djokovic is the top-ranked athlete in ATP’s world rankings. Djokovic’s performance on and off the tennis court can also make girls go crazy over him. In 2011, Djokovic posed for Vogue, for a series of snaps. There was one picture of the Serbian athlete where he was wearing nothing but Speedo. Recently, Djokovic also displayed his washboard abs during a vacation in Ibiza. REUTERS

Novak Djokovic has been performing well at the 2014 US Open, but his wife, Jelena Ristic, is not there to cheer for him in the stands during his matches. Novak has revealed in an interview that Jelena has dumped him at the Grand Slam tournament held at Flushing Meadows. Is pregnancy keeping Jelena from being with her husband at the Open?

According to Novak, he relies on cyber communication to talk to Jelena. FaceTime and Skype fill in when the newlywed couple feel the need to see a glimpse of each other.

"My wife is not here," Novak told Yahoo. "I haven't seen her for a while, I just see stomach is growing on Skype and FaceTime, but I want to spend time with her," Novak added.

Jelena has told a Sebian newspaper recently that ever since they got together, she and Novak have both been working hard to make their relationship work. "Us getting together was like science fiction almost," Jelena lamented. She said it was hard for them at first because she was barely a student and Novak was a young tennis player who wasn't making big money then.

"We contrived and devised these plans how to meet, how to make our relationship work."

Novak and Jelena have been together since 2006. He popped the question in September 2013 and got married four days after the Serbian athlete won his second Wimbledon trophy back in July 2014. Prior the wedding, Novak has previously announced that Jelena was pregnant. The two are expecting a baby boy due in October.

Meanwhile, Novak has made it to the round of 16 at the 2014 US Open for eight straight years. Djokovic has appeared in the finals of the New York Grand Slam event four times since 2007. He won the trophy against rival Rafael Nadal in 2011. He will face 2012 champion Andy Murray in the quarterfinals on Sept. 3. Novak has seven Grand Slam titles to his name.

Will Jelena reconsider being missing in action in Novak's quest for a second US Open title and surprise him on the court?
