“NCIS” Season 12 will air a new episode this Tuesday, Mar. 24, on CBS. Episode 18 (12x18) is titled “Status Update.” It focuses on Delilah (Margo Harshman) and McGee (Sean Murray). Here is a story update on McGee, Gibbs (Mark Harmon), DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Abby (Pauley Perrette).

Spoiler alert: This update contains “NCIS” Season 12 spoilers. Read on at your own risk.

Episode 10, titled “House Rules,” is the most recent “NCIS” Season 12 episode to be headlined by McGee. (Spoiler alert) In this Christmas episode, McGee buries his father, with whom he had been at odds most of his adult life.

Delilah was last seen in the 20th episode of “NCIS” Season 11. McGee gives her a key to his apartment in this episode, but the timing coincides with the opening of a job opportunity for Delilah in Dubai. They decide to make a long distance relationship work.

For his part, Gibbs has headlined a couple of big “NCIS” Season 12 episodes, so far. For one (spoiler alert), his ex-wife Diane (Melinda McGraw) dies in NCIS 12x11. His “ex-wife number 2,” Rebecca (Jeri Ryan), makes her first appearance in the same episode.

Gibbs and Fornell (Joe Spano) avenge Diane’s death by killing Sergei Michnev (Alex Veadov) in the 15th episode, “NCIS” Season 12 “Cabin Fever.” Episode 13 brings back Hollis Mann (Susanna Thompson), and she reminds Gibbs not to blame himself for Diane’s death.

On DiNozzo’s character update: In the most recent episode (NCIS 12x17), Tony says he is “evolving,” staying in a stable relationship with Zoe (Marisol Nichols). The same “NCIS” Season 12 episode shows Tony’s somewhat improving relationship with his DiNozzo Sr (Robert Wagner).

Abby, meanwhile, meets a new guy in the second episode of “NCIS” Season 12. Park officer Burt Moore (Johann Urb) manages to break Abby’s usual break-up-after-2-months habit when he shows up at NCIS with black roses. This happens in “Semper Fortis,” NCIS 12x8.

McGee says he is not jealous of Moore, and implies his relationship with Delilah is stable. He even tries to convince Abby not to apply her 2-month rule on Burt.

This week’s new episode of “NCIS” Season 12 is expected to touch upon relationships and official matters that require a status update.
