Singer-actor Mick Jagger, best known as the lead singer of “The Rolling Stones,” has become a father for the eighth time at the age of 73. The rocker’s 29-year-old ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick gave birth to a son on Dec. 8 in New York.

Mick has quite the family tree with eight children from five women ranging between the ages 45 and 17. Mick first became father when he was 21 years old. In 2014, he became great-grandfather after his 21-year-old granddaughter Assisi Jackson gave birth to a baby girl.

“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival,” his publicist said in a statement and added, “Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

Mick and Melanie began dating in 2014, the same year when his fashion designer girlfriend L'Wren Scott committed suicide. She left her entire estate (estimated at AU$12 million) to him.

Mick Jagger’s love life and relationships

Jagger has been married and divorced only once. Mick’s first girlfriend was singer-actress Marianne Faithfull, whom he dated for four years. Thereafter, he met singer Marsha Hunt and dated her for two years before ending the relationship in 1970, the same year when Hunt was pregnant with Mick’s first child.

Mick tied the knot for the first time in 1971 with Bianca De Macias who gave birth to his second child, a daughter, in the same year. She filed for divorce seven years later on the grounds of Mick’s adultery.

Next in line was Jerry Hall, with whom Mick has four children. They both got married in an unofficial private ceremony in 1990, which was later deemed invalid and void by the High Court of England and Wales in 1999. He was also dating 29-year-old Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez while he was still married to Jerry. Later, L'Wren Scott came to his life in 2001.
