Five months after “MasterChef Australia” 2016 ended and crowned winner Elena Duggan, the cooking competition’s contestants remain to be close friends.

Elena, along with former culinary rivals Jimmy Wong, Adam Mizzi, Olivia Robinson and Elise Franciskovic gathered together to attend the wedding of “MasterChef Australia” 2016 contender Miles Pritchett. On her Instagram account, Elena posted selfies and captioned it, “Happy wedding celebrations with beautiful, wonderful friends!”

Jimmy’s sister, Theresa Visintin, wasn’t present at the wedding but commented on Elena’s photo. Also a “MasterChef Australia” 2016 contestant, Theresa wrote, “Woohoo from 45,000 kms away!! It’s great seeing you all together!”

Meanwhile, the reality show’s runner-up, Matt Sinclair, seemed to have catered at the reception. Since the competition, Matt has put up his own food business called Ten Piece Cutlery. “How blessed were we to have had @tenpiececutlery feed our lovely friends and family the most amazing meal at our wedding? Thank you with all our hearts @_matt_sinclair, Moe and your incredible team,” Miles wrote on his own Instagram account.

Fans would remember Miles as one of the most endearing “MasterChef Australia” 2016 contestants. He was eliminated in early June, after failing to make his Japanese dish shine despite his background with the cuisine. Miles, along with the other cooks on the firing line, were subjected to the “lucky dip,” where they would choose a hero ingredient from one bag, as well as a type of cuisine from another.

While he had a creative plate of salmon two-ways with tempura and miso soup, judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston believed that he should have concentrated on the hero ingredient and had taken more care of the salmon. His over-complicated dish cost him his spot in the competition, and he was promptly eliminated.

After the episode aired, the 46-year-old park ranger was reported to have proposed to his former workmate turned girlfriend, Tania Martin.
