Bioware has just released the extended cut for the popular game, Mass Effect 3. The extended cut was released due to the demand of Mass Effect 3 fans that they were "cheated" because of the ending. This Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut is Bioware's effort to appease Mass Effect 3 fans.

Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC

In the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut, most of the issues that were pointed out during the first ending scene was addressed especially the lack of closure. In the extended cut, (depending on the player's actions during the game) Admiral Heckett, Edi, or Synthetic-Shepard will relay the fate of the galaxy as well as the consequences for each of the decisions made by the player. There is aso a Synthesis option which offers players different possibilities for the future of the series. Another thing which was included in the cut is the still shot options of the crew members and the complete details of the future and fates of players for both the living and the dead.

Though the extended cut was able to tie the loose ends for the first ending, it still has some weak points. This includes "Ghost Child" as well as the lack of explanation for the action of the Reapers in terms of periodically harvesting all the advanced organic life in the galaxy. Though Bioware included some additional conversations or dialogue within the game, the explanation and the meaning behind these conversations were rather weak.

Overall, the extended cut was not really that great but it was able to put an end to countless number of unanswered questions from players and fans of Mass Effect 3.

Spoilers

The release of the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut has fueled speculations that there would be a downloadable content available from Bioware. The downlodable content would be based on a Reaper with the name "Leviathan". The speculation was based on the files extracted by a Bioware forum poster. The downloaded files reveal that players should need to rescue a scientist from the colony that is under the control of a reaper named Leviathan. Leviathan is supposedly acting on his own and is not affiliated with the reast of the Reapers. Bioware did not confirm nor deny this possible spoiler from the game, only stating taht more news about DLC would be coming "soon".
