BioWare, the game developer behind Mass Effect 3 will be releasing an extended cut for the game which would be available on June 27, 2012.

The extended ending sequence is a free downloadable content pack which is compatible for Xbox 360, PC, and Playstation 3. It is under the title of "Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut". Here is the official description from Mass Effect's official website:

"The Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is a downloadable content pack that will expand upon the events at the end of Mass Effect 3. Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Extended Cut will include deeper insight to Commander Shepard's journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers. The Extended Cut will be available to download at no additional charge on June 26th on Xbox 360 and PC and PlayStation 3."

Bioware received a lot of negative feedback regarding the game's ending when it was first released due to said "misleading ads". Mass Effect 3 players believed that they are able to control the ending depending on the choice that they make during the game. In the end, the players found out that their choice during the game did not really matter towards the end which raised their anger towards BioWare. This recent release of the extended cut is a way to appease the angry players.

Players who are heading down the site can also listen to the audio interview with Casey Hudson and Mac Walters. Here is an excerpt from the audio interview which talks about this extended cut:

"I think one aspect is that it's tough to let go of a storyline and characters that you enjoy and the endings didn't really leave a lot of time to say goodbye to the experience. So a lot of people just wanted more closure."
