A Japanese man has been allegedly accused and arrested for drugging and raping over 100 women, according to reports and detectives. The sexual attacks were reportedly recorded on the tapes by the man and he sold these recording to porn sites for money.

According to Daily Mail, the man behind the crime is 52-year-old Hideyuki Noguchi, who has been reportedly arrested by the police in Chiba. It is believed that he posed as doctor and pretended to be conducting a clinical study for a time period of two years. He posted advertisement seeking female volunteers from across the country to participate in the fake medical study.

His ads approached volunteers for “clinical research measuring blood pressure during sleep.” It is said many women replied to Noguchi’s ads for the study that reportedly ended in Nov 2013. It is said that Noguchi does not hold any expertise or medical training in the subject.

According to the police, the man coaxed women to hotels and hot springs resorts. Noguchi used sedatives to make his volunteers fall asleep. According to the police, he “sexually assaulted and raped” the unconscious women and filmed the attack. The report notes that these videos were either posted on the Internet or “sold to the producers of porn films.” Noguchi was allegedly able to acquire more than 10 million yen (AUS 109,000 approximately) by selling the recordings to the porn sites, TBS and other broadcasters said.

A spokesperson for Chiba police said that police had confirmed at least 39 victims to Noguchi’s attack from various Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Chiba, Shizouka, Tochigi and Osaka. However, it is believed to be “just a fraction of total number of women” that was sexually assaulted by Noguchi. The number of women he victimised is thought to be over 100, according to media reports.

Meanwhile, another case of sexual violence on multiple women was reported in Scotland, according to Daily Record. The man, who raped, sexually assaulted and beat-up women for over 23 years, has been given a life sentence. “That order constitutes a sentence of imprisonment for an indefinite period,” the judge told Patrick Chinskie during the hearing at High Court in Edinburgh.
