Johnny Depp wants ex-wife Amber Heard to pay $139K in legal fees

Johnny Depp’s attorney, Laura Wasser, filed new court documents on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court asking the court to order Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard to pay US$100,000 (AU$138,775) for attorney’s fees and other charges. He is also asking the court to deduct that said amount for his next divorce settlement payment if Heard will not pay within 10 days of the court’s order. The next court hearing is scheduled on Jan.13.

“The impact of her relentless pursuit on Johnny — the damage her false allegations have caused his personal and professional reputation, his and his family’s emotional well-being, and his finances — appears to be of no interest to Amber,” Wasser wrote in the court filing. The female lawyer also added that earlier this year, Heard behaved erratically and uncooperatively all throughout the court proceedings.

ET reported after obtaining some documents that the former couple previously signed a Deal Point Memorandum. There was also an outline of how much each party would pay and what their responsibilities would be.

On the other hand, Heard’s lawyer Pierce O’Donnell gave a statement to Us Weekly and said that he is glad that Johnny Depp seems to have rediscovered his comic touch with this laughable motion. It is just another lame attempt by Mr. Depp and his team to not pay my client the money she is owed. We look forward to prevailing in court and to getting sick children and women in need the money that Mr. Depp is denying them.” Heard's team also asked the court that the order made to Depp would be upheld in his end of the divorce settlement.

The documents stated that Heard violated the confidentiality agreement. She did not follow the said agreement almost every week.

The “Danish Girl” star filed for a divorce against Depp on May 23 following her accusation that Depp had physically and verbally abused her. Their divorce became final on Aug.16.
