“iZombie” executive producer Rob Thomas teases on the storylines that will be explored when CW’s crime comedy-drama series returns in January 2016. The second-half episodes of “iZombie” Season 2 will touch on the Liv-Major relationship, the zombie-ism cure and more new cases for Liv Moore (Rose McIver) and Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin).

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “iZombie” Season 2 spoilers.

“iZombie” Season 2 will return with episode 10 titled “Method Head” where Liv investigates on the murder of a genre star. The promo video teases that Liv will be a part of a zombie-themed TV show while solving the murder case.

In an interview with E! News, Thomas has teased that the “iZombie” fans will see about Detective Babineaux finding out the truth about his “psychic” partner. “It's the genie you cannot put back in the bottle. Once Clive knows, he knows, and we can never play those fun beats of Clive not knowing again,” Thomas shared.

Thomas also revealed that the writers of the show has been discussing on the storyline of Clive discovering Liv’s secret. “We are going to learn that Clive has some insights that he isn't necessarily sharing with Liv. We'll hear about some of that soon,” Thomas further teased.

When it comes to the Liv-Major relationship, Thomas explained that the episodes of “iZombie” Season 2 will show how Liv and Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley) face a couple of uphill battles that cause a strain in their relationship but the two characters still have each other’s backs while dealing with the different kinds of challenges thrown at them.

As for Major’s behaviour following his break-up with Liv in the mid-season finale, Thomas assured the “iZombie” fans that Major will not go into the drug hole once again. In the first part of “iZombie” Season 2, Thomas explained that the viewers saw Major spiral out of control because he was still struggling and trying to get his bearings and head above water.

Another storyline to look forward to when “iZombie” Season 2 returns is on the zombie-ism cure. Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli) has discovered that the cure is not permanent because his cured zombie rat New Hope was back to being a zombie rat.

Thomas teased that what happened to New Hope means Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) and Major’s days are counting down as well. “So now they have a basic idea where the tainted Utopium might be, and it's a rush to find it,” Thomas further shared.

The CW Television Network has released the official trailer for “iZombie” Season 2, episode 7 titled “Method Head.” The brand new episode is scheduled to return on Tuesday night, Jan. 12, at 9/8c.
