Ian Somerhalder: 'Vampire Diaries' Actor Turns 36, Reveals What He Wants For His Birthday On A Facebook Video
"Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhaler is excited to celebrate his birthday this 2014. The heartthrob actor, who turns 36 on Monday, Dec. 8, shared on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter what he really wants to receive as a gift for his birthday through a shared video.
"With my birthday approaching I wanted to share my wishes with you :) http://bit.ly/IanVideo," Somerhalder posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder on Sunday, Dec. 7, with a link to his video on the official Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF) Facebook page.
"The work through ISF is the most important thing in Ians' heart, please help fill it by donating to ISF for his BDAY! Watch this special video from Ian," the video description on Facebook reads. The video begins with Ian Somerhalder telling his millions of fans that he is excited to celebrate another birthday.
The TVD star shared that people has been asking him what he wants for his birthday so he revealed his answer through the shared video. "The best gift that I could possibly imagine is making positive change in my incredible ISF family," Somerhalder declared.
The actor wants the viewers to text the word "Thursday" to 80077 where they will receive a confirmation about a one-time $10 donation to support the ISF project for animals. Ian Somerhalder added that if the participants replied "Yes" to the text message they receive, they will continue to be in the ISF loop with their game-changing projects.

A Hollywood Life report noted down that the "Vampire Diaries" star could be the biggest animal lover out there. Ian Somerhalder often shares images of his pets on social media sites like Instagram and Twitter.
Back in October, the actor shared an adorable image of himself with his two pet dogs on a chilly morning. Last November, Ian Somerhalder and his girlfriend, "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed, added a new addition to their animal family after adopting a dog that the couple named Sohalia.
The fans can watch actor Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 which airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network. The TV series is scheduled to air its mid-season finale episode titled "Christmas Through Your Eyes" on Dec. 11, 2014.
