It has been pledged that Season 6 will be touching on very sensitive topics and will be closing in with reality in the best way it can. “Homeland” will take off on a presidential election and will be dealing with Carrie establishing a new law firm that would assist marginalized Muslims in the United States.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Homeland” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

Claire Danes was seen joined by a recognizable figure while filming for the show recently in Queens, New York. This recognizable bearded fellow is no other than Mandy Patinkin, who viewers remember as Carrie’s former CIA mentor Saul Berenson. What business he has now and if he and Carrie are up to something remains to be seen.

Danes revealed earlier that the reason as to why she is in New York is because Quinn (Rupert Friend) has been receiving therapy there after a near-fatal stroke. When asked how Carrie would redeem herself with Quinn, she jokingly replied that this can be done “by annoying the crap out of him.”

The Hollywood Reporter reports that another exciting addition to the show is an alt-right anarchist character who will be played by Jake Weber, named Bret O’Keefe.“Alt right” is a general term used for people who subscribe to far right ideologies and get set apart from mainstream conservatism. Others might see this as a euphemism for white supremists. His role has also been described as less of Steve Bannon and more of Alex Jones.

This marks Weber’s latest recurring role after stints on “Hell on Wheels” and “Tyrant.” Prior to these, the actor also starred in seven seasons of “Medium” and has made some appearances on “The Blacklist,” “Secrets and Lies,” and “Easy.” His promising credentials would surely make him worth looking forward to.

Homeland” airs Wednesdays on the Showtime Channel. It also airs on the TEN Channel in Australia. “Homeland” Season 6 premieres in January 15, 2017.
