Memories of Reach is the latest DLC for "Halo 5 Guardians." Xbox

343 Industries has teased some new information for its upcoming DLC, Memories of Reach, for “Halo 5 Guardians.” This time, the developer has released new information on how it plans to set the new Matchmaking Search Preferences with the expansion.

In the latest blog update over at Halo Waypoint, the developer revealed that the options for matchmaking can be found in both the Arena and Warzone playlist selection screens. There are three main matchmaking preference options. There’s Balanced, which is the default. This allows players to search for a match that is based on a player’s fireteam skill and network connection quality.

Expanded option boosts the parameters so that the first available match with a reasonable match0up for skill and network connection quality. This is the option for those who want to get into battle quickly. The last is Focused, which narrows the search for the best match to the team. However, the search time under this setting may take longer.

The Post-Game Carnage Report is also getting some tweaks with Memories of Reach. The new report will now give an overview of the rewards that a player wins in the match. Some of the records that will be included in the report are the rarity, number and descriptions of medals earned, the Tool of Destruction and the most number of kills and most number of deaths of each player. Commendations and Recaps of both one player and other players can be seen.

Players who want to know the armour that they can obtain from Memories of Reach, 343 Industries has also outed the REQs. All of the weapons and gear can be seen in the link above. There are four armour sets, the Indomitablel, the Intruder, the Wrath and the Vigilant.

Finally, Infection Mode medals have also been revealed. There are a total of 18 medals to be earned. Most of the objectives include killing a certain number of zombies without dying, infecting a number of Survivors without dying, living through the Zombie Apocalypse, killing a zombie in specific ways and being both the last man standing and killing the last man standing, albeit in two different objectives.

Since Infection is making a comeback, the developer has released an exclusive video showing off the new mode. As the name suggests, the mode features infected zombies who will battle it out with humans. The Infection mode will have differing objectives depending on whether one is a human or a zombie. Humans will have to survive, while zombies will need to take out all the humans, Game Informer reported.

To tailor Infection to “Halo 5 Guardians,” 343 Industries had changed up some of the aspect of the maps to vary the gameplay of each one. However, at the core of it, the developer has maintained essence of Infection. The goal was to promote movement within the map, and this was done by removing pistols from the start of the game.

There is also a greenish tinge in the atmosphere, to signify the infected quality of the zombies. Memories of Reach for “Halo 5 Guardians” will release sometime this May.
