LG G3 specs and features have recently leaked and it might give us an insight on what to expect with the upcoming Google Nexus 6 handset later this year.

LG has been finding its stride in the smartphone industry dominated by Apple and Samsung. LG G2, its current flagship smartphone, has been doing well and it is available in all major U.S. carriers.

Earlier when Nexus 5 was released, it was based on LG G2 and as the expected manufacturer of Nexus 6, LG might outline the next generation Nexus device with the upcoming LG G3 smartphone.

The LG G3 will be offered by Verizon and AT&T carriers and the model numbers were previously posted to the LG Web site before it removed traces of the Verizon VS985 and AT&T LG D-850.

Recently, the specs and features of the upcoming LG G3 were leaked from a Dutch Web site. According to the report, the LG G3 will sport a 5.5-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 resolution and 538 ppi. The processor will be an octa-core MediaTek, according to a leaked graphics benchmark screenshot.

Although there are rumors suggesting the next flagship smartphone from LG will sport a 64-bit processor, which will be manufactured in-house, recent rumors noted it will have the MediaTek's octa-core chip. The MT6595 sports 2.2 GHz to 2.5 GHz Cortex-A17 cores and four 1.7 GHz Cortex-A7 cores that are comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor.

LG is rumored once again to collaborate with Google to manufacture Nexus 6. As Nexus 5 has been based on LG G2, it is likely that Nexus 6 will follow the same recipe and will be outlined from LG G3.

The Google Nexus 6 is expected to sport a fingerprint scanner to compete with Samsung Galaxy S5 and Apple iPhone 5s. Also, some reports said it will be an IP67-certified dust-proof and water-resistant device.
