George R. R. Martin has again clarified that the book "Winds of Winter" will not be released this Christmas and the speculation of its release is wrong. The author also debunked rumours that he was inspired to write after watching the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer.

"Winds of Winter" is a highly anticipated book by George R. R. Martin. The fans of the book series are eagerly waiting for any hint about when the book may be released. Recently, a countdown to Christmas celebrations and holidays on the authors Twitter account prompted speculation that the author is gearing up for the release of the book.

George R. R. Martin took to his blog to put an end to the rumours. The author said that his blog was the only place where he was active and his Twitter and Facebook accounts are handled by his assistants, who he calls "minions."

According to the author, the "12 Days" to Christmas was an idea by Random House for a promotion on Twitter. It was reportedly meant only for Christmas celebrations and was not for any announcement about completion or publication of "Winds of Winter."

The author said that he knew how anxious the fans of the book series are and how long they have been waiting for the book's release. He said that he will not "play games" with the announcement like dropping clues or sending hidden messages. He said that the announcement will be straightforward and to the point.

George R. R. Martin is still working on "Winds of Winter" and so the book is not yet complete to warrant any announcement. The author said that his work on the book in the recent days was not inspired by watching the trailer of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." He said that he was not sure how the rumour started.

George R. R. Martin said that he liked the first two "Star Wars" movies and did not like prequels. He further said that the movies from the franchise can't compare to the movie "Forbidden Planet." The author has no opinion about the trailer of the upcoming movie from the franchise. The announcement about the release date of "Winds of Winter" will be made on the author's personal blog.
