Sophie Turner expects a reunion of Sansa and Arya Stark in “Game of Thrones” Season 7. The actress spoke about her character’s arc in a recent interview and explained that all the challenges her character faced in the previous seasons was leading up to her doing something great.

[Spoiler alert]

In an interview with The Wrap, Turner (Sansa Stark) said that a reunion of her character with Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) was on the top of her list. The actress feels that the reunion has to happen, but is not sure if it will. She pointed out that the viewers may be expecting the two characters to get back together and the show doesn’t give such moments that are “satisfactory” very often.

Turner said that the reunion now is “obvious,” so the producers may choose to do something “dark and depressing.” Sansa has already reunited with her brother Jon Snow (kit Harington) and there is now a possibility of her reuniting with Arya in “Game of Thrones” Season 7, as the latter has just arrived in Westeros.

Sansa and Arya have not seen each other since the very first season. The two sisters had a difficult relationship since childhood, and they would often end up fighting.

After the two characters separated, Sansa was married off to two different men on separate occasions. When the character finally did something of importance in Season 6, Turner said that she was able to show people the capabilities of her character.

Production of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 is yet to begin. With Jon Snow being crowned as King in the North, there could be some sibling rivalry between him and Sansa, as the latter may choose to side with Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) in the fight for the Iron Throne. Sansa did not appear to be pleased with her brother getting the major credit for defeating the Boltons, but it remains to be seen if she will act on her emotions.
