‘Fast and Furious 6’ star and producer Vin Diesel admits “it is gratifying to be able to look back and to see how everything links up" from the moment he was cast as Dom Toretto to becoming part of one of Hollywood’s most successful franchise in the history of any Universal movie.

The evolution of the franchise from a mere racing film to becoming “a global action thrill ride” with elements of heist and pursuit of justice incorporated in some of its series, represents what Vin has become since the day he signed up for the project.

Vin’s superstardom did not come overnight. He was not a Robert Pattinson who became an international superstar after landing his second big film project in Twilight series. Vin is not like Omar Borkan Al Gala who received a Mercedes car for his birthday gift after being deported from Saudi Arabia for his unlawful good looks.

Mark Sinclair Vincent worked his way to the top much harder than most, and his beginnings has helped him keep grounded and not lose sight of his goals in any endeavors.

The 45-year-old hunk actor has had humble beginnings before he made his way to the top.

Here are the top things you might not know about Vin Diesel.

2. He worked as a bouncer.
3. The hottie actor dropped out of an English degree.
4. He failed to kick-start his career in Hollywood.

6. Multi-Facial: Vin’s first produced and written film
Following his mom’s advice, Vin created his own film, Multi-Facial. The film is based on his own experiences as an actor. One of the reasons he would not get projects back in the day was his colour. Vin would not be considered in a project either because he was “too white” or he was “too black.”

7. He met Steven Spielberg at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival
Steven Spielberg saw his first film, Multi-Facial, at the Cannes Film Festival and the multi-awarded director decided to give Vin a break - - one he had been waiting for. His meeting with the film director paved way for his role as Adrian Caparzo in World War II movie, Saving Private Ryan.

His hunky, hottie looks and his deep sounding voice - - all have made great impression and have marked VIn as one of the highly sought-after actors, and the rest they say, is history for Vin. The actor has become one of the greatest and most successful actors in Hollywood today. Thanks to his mom and the book he gave her on "how to launch a career in film in Hollywood."
