One of the bigger updates to hit “Destiny” now that it is already enjoying the major change of The Taken King is the upcoming December update. Developer Bungie has already dropped some breadcrumbs on what players can expect once the update hits.

In the latest Weekly Update, Bungie revealed a long list of weapon changes. Each weapon type has received some considerable changes, most of which had been based on community feedback.

Auto Rifles are now more able to take the scene in PvP matches with the newest update. To put them in a similar level as the Pulse Rifles, there is now a small increase in the base damage, which fits its close to medium-range capability. On the other hand, since a lot of Guardians are looking at Pulse Rifles as the better choice to survive matches, the developer has lessened its base damage so that it will be on a more level playing field as the Auto Rifles.

Hand Cannons have experienced an increase in ADS Accuracy so players can be more effective during close to medium range combat. On a basic level, the Fusion Rifles are now supposed to be easier to handle in terms of choosing the effective combination to use.

Sniper rifles will still have damage falloff, however, precision will be a necessity in headshots to get rewards. With this change, Sniper Rifles are the only weapons that can roll off precision damage bonus for Luck in the Chamber.

Finally sidearms have increased ready/stow speed, so they can be easy weapons to reload and handle. Used again for close to medium range combat, it’s supposed to be a support tool for these types of encounters. Effectiveness becomes dulled the longer the range the weapon is used.

The full list of weapon tuning can be seen in the link above. Coming also with the December update is the addition of more exotics. These will be available once the December Update is rolled out.

More than the weapon tuning, “Destiny” fans can also expect a new exotic making a comeback in the game. Dubbed as the MIDA Multi-Tool, the exotic weapon is one of the exotics for “Destiny” Year 2, and a good replacement for some of the exotics that are no longer included in the list for its second annual run.

According to Destructoid, the MIDA Multi-Tool is coming to “Destiny” once the December update hits. Its advantage is the speed that comes for the players, and the added ability of seeing the radar even when using aiming down sight. It appears that this is a good weapon, if only for the speed boost that it can give to higher ranked and maxed ability Guardians.
