'The X-Files' fans will surely be delighted to hear that apart from the recent 20th anniversary celebration of the sci-fi show which was first launched on Sept 10, 1993, its two lead stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson agree on doing a third movie.

The two reunited on Saturday during a forum made for the 'The X-Files' fans held in New York, Sydney Morning Herald reports. It can be recalled how their two characters were somehow romantically involved after having worked together as federal agents Mulder Fox and Dana Scully. So-called 'shipper' fans were all thumbs up for any plot twist that will lead to the two ending up as a couple despite the series' long term run focusing on their being professional colleagues.

Even the two celebrities themselves were not quite sure whether their characters tied the knot or not. But they can only agree in one thing and that is to do a third 'The X-Files' movie. "Gillian and I want to do it, so it's really up to Twentieth Century Fox at this point," the actor stated.

Anderson added that the show's fans can also do a lot by also letting the producers know that they want a third film instalment.

Where Are They Now?

For a total of nine seasons and two movies, 'The X-Files' became loved by many fans and groups who were highly interested with the idea of extraterrestrials. However, as the series ended, many are wondering what the cast and crew are working on now with their lives.

David Duchovny currently stars in a drama comedy show by Showtime entitled 'Californication.' It is in its seventh season run by 2014.

Gillian Anderson has done several movies after the run of 'The X-Files' but she has made bigger projects on television still. Some of her hit TV shows are 'Hannibal' and 'The Fall.'

Did you even know that the writer and executive producer of the show, Vince Gilligan, is also the creator behind the hit AMC show, 'Breaking Bad' which also had its run for five amazing seasons?
