After a brilliant second season of non-stop drama and impressive action sequences, Netflix original series "Daredevil" has been renewed for a third season in July. But while news racks are currently abuzz with updates on another Netflix original, “The Defenders,” the Matt-Murdock-starrer series lies latent in some corner, waiting to be brought back to the limelight.

The confirmation for a third season of “Daredevil” came through a teaser trailer that Netflix dropped at a ComicCon last July. Although the teaser doesn’t reveal much, rest assured “Daredevil” season 3 is indeed on the way.

Now, while fans are frantically trying to get an update on the show, Netflix continues to keep it all zipped, revealing no further clue regarding the release. And just when it was about to look like the series might not return anytime soon, the Daily Express dropped a bomb to fans’ utter delight, alleging “Daredevil” season 3 will return in mid-2018.

So with the show being over a year away, the plot continues to be a mystery. The only bit of information available comes in the form of an Instagram post showing Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) on a date with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). This hints that the fans may witness Matt and Karen getting further entangled in a romantic liaison in“Daredevil” season 3. [Check the post below.]

Per the Daily Express, the upcoming season will also see Kingpin's, a.k.a. Wilson Fist (Vincent D’Onofrio), return as promised in season 2. Fist was seen making a promise to Matt that he would make his life a living hell. Talking about Daredevil’s other adversaries, Jon Bernthal will also be back to reprise his role as Frank Castle, who became The Punisher by the season’s end.

Additional reports state that the show’s third season will further see a fan-favourite character, Bullseye, challenge the Daredevil. The character was last played by Colin Farrell in the 2003 “Daredevil” film. It’s not clear as to who will reprise the role in the Netflix series. However, speculations and fan theories hint at actor Jason Statham in the role.

Nonetheless, Bullseye is the most probable adversary Daredevil will face next. Cox was reported earlier telling a crowd at Wizard World in Pittsburgh that it would be an interesting opportunity to see Bullseye in the “Daredevil” series.

While a release for “Daredevil” season 3 has yet to be announced, it has been alleged the show returns in mid-2018. Per reports, the show will happen after the upcoming first season of Netflix’s “The Defenders” has finished airing. Meanwhile, the series’ previous two seasons are available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
