Tweeters that didn’t like Twitter changing their beloved Star icon into a Heart can take heart (pardon the pun). A Google Chrome extension called "Fav Forever" popped up just hours after Twitter junked the iconic Star for the new (and "dis-liked") Heart.

Here’s the link to Fav Forever developed by Reed Kavner, a software developer at Rezhound. Just download Fav Forever to see the Stars shine once again in your tweeterverse.

Fav Forever lets tweeters replace Twitter's new Heart icon that indicates Likes with the more familiar Star icon that indicates Favorites.

But there’s bad news for “Star-hards”. The fix only works on Chrome. It doesn’t work on mobile apps or on TweetDeck.

Sorry, but take heart. A diehard tweeter that’s also an app developer might be making an app that will restore the Star on all the other browsers. You got to have faith.

Twitter’s move to replace the familiar star icon with a heart backfired big time and sparked massive outrage just hours after its release yesterday. Seems most tweeters "dis-liked" the new heart (pardon another pun) and flooded the tweeterverse with loud complaints about the change.

As Gizmodo pointed out, some weren’t huge fans of the change while others were indifferent about it.

Twitter earlier revamped its user interface by ditching the star icon in favor of the heart. It says the change better shows how tweeters feel.

Prior to this controversial change, the star tagged a post into "favorites." Now, with a heart icon on the interface, any post the user clicks the heart icon on will be tagged under "likes." A heart symbol can be attached to a multitude of emotions. Looks like Twitter wants to give its users a better way to express how they feel about certain things on its interface.

"You can say a lot with a heart," as written on Twitter's official page. "Introducing a new way to show how you feel on Twitter!"

Avid Internet users are well aware the heart has now become a universal symbol for liking something. Although this may be true, it doesn’t necessarily mean a heart symbol can automatically be accurate about a sentiment.

The heart symbol adaptation was first brought over on Periscope. Now, the company is gearing itself to add this new icon onto Vine and onto Twitter itself. Through device updates, the star-to-heart change can now be seen on the social media's Android and iOS apps, TweetDeck, and Twitter for Windows 10. The update for Vine, according to Tech Times, will be rolled out soon.

Akarshan Kumar, the Product Manager of Twitter, confirmed that prior to implementing the change, the company actually held tests to gauge the public's reception. "In our tests, we found that people loved it!" Kumar said. Apparently, the people that the company called in for the testing process did not just like Twitter's new "like" feature, they loved it.
