Two “miracles” happened to a Chinese newborn in Zhejiang Province this February. Born prematurely on Jan 8 after only seven months of pregnancy, the baby was declared dead. An An survived a night inside the morgue at a minus 12 degrees Celsius temperature. The second “miracle” was Lu wailing just before he was to be cremated, reports Zhejiang TV’s Channel 6.

Because An An was premature, he was placed in an incubator at the Pan’an People’s Hospital in Zhejiang. But his father, Lu, insisted on bringing him home for the Chinese Lunar New Year a week ahead of schedule. Two days after bringing the baby boy home, An An’s face lost colour, so Lu returned him to Pan’an for emergency care.

On Feb 4, his health further worsened, leading Dr Chen Shuanghua, the paediatrician, to declare An An not breathing and lacking heartbeat. But she still contacted another doctor who made the baby’s death certificate, reports Epoch Times

By 6 pm that day, the baby was brought to the morgue of Pan’an Funeral Home, wrapped in two layers of clothing. The hospital’s director said it was a mistake of the staff by failing to confirm the infant’s death a second time before issuing the death certificate.

He was frozen for about 15 hours when An An was retrieved from the morgue when he cried which saved him from being burned alive. Following the return to life of An An, he was returned to the emergency room and placed in an incubator on Monday, reports The Telegraph.

Chen, a baby doctor for 20 years, says she does not really understand how the “miracle” happened. She adds that An An’s odds of survival are low. If the boy survives, that would be a third “miracle” in a row.
