The Ascendance DLC for “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” is still less than a week away. But developer Sledgehammer Games has managed to provide some sneak peeks of what to expect with the second episode of the Exo Zombie story titled “Infection.”

The latest release is a new preview gameplay trailer which sees the first multiplayer map, titled “Perplex.” This map is set in Sydney, Australia. The trailer can be seen below, and it features a raging cameraman at the start.

There are gameplay action scenes per map, starting with Perplex, which is situated in a five-story apartment complex and holds a lot of high places to jump from. It’s a pretty dynamic map, as the modules of the apartment complex is shifted and changed by construction drones.

Site 244 sees a crashed alien spacecraft near Mount Rushmore. Players need to open the alien spore to enhance perks and exo abilities, all the while indulging in a freer combat style. As the name suggests the Climate map has climate-controlled enclosures, and looks like the kind of utopia that hides a secret. According to a press release from Activision, this secret is in the river water, which holds a bubbly death for players who make the mistake of taking a dip. Finally, Chop Shop is held in an industrial complex, where it will be a fast shootout.

Players will be taking on the persona of the celebrity characters who are now working as Atlas employees. The celebrity cast includes John Malkovich, Rose McGowan, Bill Paxton and Jon Bernthal.

Ascendance holds a bonus weapon, the OHM – Werewolf, which is a two-in-one directed Energy LMG/Shotgun. The DLC will also introduce the Grapple Mode, which allows you to traverse your way up or scale buildings while having the ability to shoot just as fast.

Earlier, the official “Call of Duty” Twitter page has also been teasing few snapshots and clips of the zombie map. There’s the rundown Burger Town, complete with a freaky mascot. There are also sneak peeks of the town area where zombies can easily be lurking around. The Exo Zombies are also featured, armed and ready to fight.

More than the Ascendance DLC, however, Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey has also teased the possibility of a new weapon, in the form of an antique-looking pistol. VG 24/7 has spotted the teaser, though no announcements have been made so far.

But this does seem to be a clue to an upcoming reveal, as Condrey added in another tweet that there may be a throwback weapon coming to “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.” He has already provided the top weapons that could make a comeback, including the ACR, Intervention, FAMAS, MP5, PP90 and UMP45. Condrey mentioned that a community poll may be in the works soon.

Speaking of guns and weapons, Condrey has also recently ranked the weapons that can be used in “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” for its multiplayer. GameSpot reports that the guns are ranked according to their effectiveness depending on the overall kill-to-death ratio. The guns that emerged on the top are as follows, alongside the variants that make it even better:

- ARX-160 – Hole Puncher

- Ameli – Heavy

- HBRa3 – Insanity

- Bal-27 – O.Steed

- Pytaek – Loophole
