Hot on the heels of a new story-based trailer and the first video detailing the new maps, Activision has released “Ascendance,” the second major DLC pack for “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.” The DLC is available on Xbox One and Xbox 360, and will arrive on PlayStation platforms and the PC at a later date.

As stated in an Activision press release, “Ascendance” features four new multiplayer maps, Perplex, Site 244, Climate and Chop Shop, as well as a new hybrid weapon, a new Exo-Grapple ability playlist and the second entry in the action-packed Exo Zombies story-based adventure. The small to medium sized map, Perplex, is set in a five-storey modular apartment complex in Sydney. The map offers ample opportunity for players to exercise vertical combat options and engage in tense close-quarters combat within the complex. Construction drones across the map open up new routes through the map during gameplay, forcing combatants to keep on their toes.

The medium-sized map, Chop Shop encourages quick thinking as players battle their way through a black market exoskeleton industrial combat. Activating a map-based scorestreak that allows combatants to take control of an Advanced Repulsion Turret will help lock down key areas on this symmetrical map.

An even smaller map, Climate, is set inside a lush, futuristic man-made utopia. Land and water routes on this circular map funnel combat around a central island structure. Gamer's will need to be wary of the threat of quick river water changes to stay alive. Meanwhile, Site 44 is a medium-to-large three-lane map set in the shadow of Mount Rushmore. Players will do battle in the crashed wreckage of a United States military spacecraft, using map-based scorestreaks to crack open an alien spore and enhance perks and exo-abilities.

“Ascendance” also brings the second episode of the Exo Zombies saga, called “Infection,” which began with the previous DLC pack, “Havoc.” Exo Zombies tells the tale of four unfortunate Atlas employees, played by John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, and Jon Bernthal, as they attempt to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Taking refuge in a nearby fast food joint, the four heroes rely on new traps, support allies and a new OHM directed energy 2-in-1 LMG/shotgun to fend off the advancing hordes. Gamer's will have to survive wave after wave, while escorting civilian survivors to safety. “Infection” also adds all-new exo zombie classes and a new mini boss enemy type to the mix. As noted by Gamespot, the DLC is currently available on Xbox Live for $15, and is also included in the $50 season pass bundle.
