Nokia's Android handset seems to come back from the dead codenamed "Normandy." Tipster @evleaks revealed that the device is in the works for release in the MWC conference.

Chinese Web site tieba.baidu.com showed an alleged leaked screen capture of Nokia's Android phone, supposedly confirming the existence of a Nokia phone running Android.

Normandy's screen capture is hard to confirm with many hardware specs blotted out. However, one can still get some interesting speculations from this latest leak. First, the model number for the Android Nokia handset is A110, running Android 4.4.1. It appears to be running a 3.4.0 Kernel, which could mean that Nokia has optimized the ART for this low-end device.

Second, the device runs a SnapDragon processor, sporting a 5 MP camera. The resolution is confirmed to be at 854 x 480 pixel, making the phone an FWVGA touchscreen, another confirmation that this handset is targeted for lower-end markets.

Tipster @evleaks has tweeted some official UI pictures of the Android-running Nokia handset. The phone's appearance is a mix of Asha and Lumia series designs with a single capacitive back button on the face front. It also appears to have a dual-SIM support.

According to an Indian Web site BGR, this Android-running Nokia phone will be "de-Googled," which means that it will not include Gmail, Google maps, Google Search services and cannot access the Google Play Store. Instead, the phone will be using Nokia's own Bing Search, maps and Microsoft Outlook for its mail client.

Other rumors claim Nokia will be in contact with many top-tier app developers and discuss to develop apps for its own Android store. Some app developers also claim that more than 80% of apps in the Google Play Store is compatible with the Nokia Normandy and it only needs some minor tweaks.

However, official photos do not necessarily mean the Nokia Normandy will actually make it to the market. What it ultimately proves is that Nokia is working on an Android handset.

According to BGR, Nokia will likely announce the Normandy in the MWC 2014 by end February.
