Already in a controversy concerning alleged beating of his son, Adrian Peterson, the star running back for the Minnesota Vikings is being accused of injuring yet another son. In both cases, Peterson’s justification of the act was that he was disciplining both boys.

Photos and SMS messages about the incident were acquired by the investigative team of the website, khou.com.

"It's absolutely criminal," Randy Burton said via the same KHOU article. "You break the skin, you have bleeding, much less permanent scars, that is a crime."

Burton is the founder of the advocacy group Justice for Children, a national child advocacy organization that is based in Houston, Texas.

In the text conversation exchange between Peterson and the unnamed mother regarding the hitting incident, which allegedly happened in June 2014, the Vikings star admitted that he gave his son “a whoopin in the car” but said that he did it because he was “disciplining his son for cussing to a sibling”

Burton declared that the new information is very damaging for Peterson, who is already involved in a previous case of beating a son.

Peterson or his attorneys has yet to address the new allegations but has already released an official statement on Wednesday regarding the first case.

“I am not a perfect son. I am not a perfect husband. I am not a perfect parent, but I am, without a doubt, not a child abuser,” Peterson said. “I am someone that disciplined his child and did not intend to cause him any injury. No one can understand the hurt that I feel for my son and for the harm I caused him. My goal is always to teach my son right from wrong and that’s what I tried to do that day.”

Considered one of the best offensive players in the National Football League (NFL), Peterson was reinstated by the Vikings last Monday and is pegged to play against the New Orleans Saints in Minnesota’s Week 3 game in the regular season.
