Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris indulged in a Twitter fight over Taylor Swift. The online conflict started when the former One Direction star retweeted an article supporting Miley Cyrus for her decision to release her next album for free. This was a direct insult to Swift, who in comparison, took her music off Spotify.

The retweeted article compared Swift and Cyrus' approach towards their music and how they made money, which did not show Swift in her best light. This did not go well with Swift's rumoured boyfriend, DJ Calvin Harris. Harris first defended Swift on Twitter saying how she is using her celebrity status to benefit musicians monetarily.

“If u don't get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry,” Harris wrote on Twitter. He did not mention Malik in this tweet but wrote that people should “stay out of things you don't understand.”

Malik was quick to understand that it was he who was pointed out in the tweet. “Ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate,” he wrote to Harris on Twitter, and added that the DJ too “clearly didn't understand what I just said either.”

Malik, 22, also went one step further and dissed Harris, 32, in yet another tweet, this time targeting his age. “So i suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out,” Malik said, clearly taking a shot at Harris. Malik also used the British slang "knickers,” which is a term used for panties worn by old women.

Malik also told Harris that he writes his own songs too, just like Swift. “Oh and I write my own shit too d---head,” he tweeted. Harris apparently did not want the feud to drag forver, so he sent out the final tweet to the former One Directioner. “All good, it was the quote not you personally mate,” Harris wrote.
