Zayn Malik teases new tattoo design that could cover image of Perrie Edwards’ on his arm

When Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards were still committed to each other, the former One Direction singer had a huge cartoon image of Edwards tattooed on his arm. However, now that he has called off his engagement to the Little Mix singer, fans are said to be wondering what Malik plans to do with the ink. According to a report, Malik could decide to cover it with an image of a Lotus flower as what he may have supposedly hinted on his latest tweet.

Mirror UK reports that the cut-out photo of a Lotus flower Malik shared on his Twitter page can actually replace the image of his ex-fiancée tattooed on his arm. The site shared a copy of Malik’s photo showing the cut-out placed on top of the piano. The singer could be hinting of a tattoo transfer with his Twitter photo, as he reportedly sketches his designs first before getting inked.

Some Twitter users also figured the same, including a fan named shefa who asked Malik, “is that the tattoo you're using to cover up the other one?” Twitter user named k loves h also told the singer to “get this tattoo to cover up perrie.”

Teen celebrity magazine J-14 claims Malik can also try to alter his tattoo of Edwards’ face on his arm, similar to what Justin Bieber did to what fans thought was an image of Selena Gomez tattooed on his wrist. Zayn could supposedly leave the ink to remind him of his relationship with Perrie or he could also go through the painful process of having it entirely removed. Whatever Malik’s plans are, the publication claims fans are deeply worried about the fate of that meaningful tattoo.

The cartoon image of Edwards’ face tattooed on Malik’s right arm is said to be very meaningful since it was a symbol of the 22-year old’s love for Perrie. Zayn had the tattoo back in 2013. A close-up photo of the ink is shared by J-14.

A report from Mirror UK claims Zayn broke off his engagement to Edwards through a text message sent over a couple of weeks back. A source told The Sun that the Little Mix singer was caught off guard by Malik’s decision.

“She’s devastated, which everyone understands, but is doing her best to focus on work and to put on a brave face in public,” the source said.

Malik reportedly has other concerns to focus on other than his tattoo of Edwards. The source said the ex-couple still has to talk about what they plan to do with their recently purchased £3 million home (over AU$6 million).

“ This was a very serious, major financial purchase. She thought Zayn was committing to their long-term future,” the source added.
