New Zealand has made a lasting impression on the boys of One Direction. The British boyband singers Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have revealed that they have added inks to their increasing tattoo collection during their brief stay in the country.

Louis, 21, and Zayn, 20, told ONE News in an interview ahead of their concert in Auckland on Saturday that they both got fresh inks.

“We went and did a bit of shopping, and we got a couple of tattoos,” Louis told reporter Joanna Hunkin about his new body impression that he got on Friday. “I got this silly little Pacman here (points to his wrist), and a web on my leg.”

Zayn also got a new design, a snake on his shoulder, which he did not show because it was still sore.

Their bandmate, Niall Horan, however, still refused to get any tattoos on his body. While Zayn and Louis, as well as other 1D members Harry Styles and Liam Payne, think tattoos as their prized collection, Niall hasn’t had any ink marks on yet.

He was able to fool some of his fans, though, when he posted an Instagram photo of their arms sporting a New Zealand fern ink.

“Came, saw, and conquered,” the 20-year-old Irish singer captioned the photo.

It’s not mentioned whose arms are included in the photo, though observant One Directioners pointed out that the arm at the rightmost side, which has a feather tattoo, is Liam’s.

It doesn’t really matter which arms belong to whom, though, as all the fern tattoos in the picture are all fake.

The young singers aren’t the only international star who has had a tattoo in New Zealand.

Rihanna also added a new collection to her inked body while in the country. In a video posted on YouTube, the Barbadian singer is seen getting a Maori style tattoo in her arm done in the traditional way: with a chisel and hammer.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s very own Lorde proved to be a One Directioner herself. The 16-year-old Billboard chart-topper was spotted at the boys’ Auckland concert at the Vector Arena on Saturday, seemingly enjoying herself while mingling with other fans.
