Xiaomi Mi Band is one of the cheapest and popular fitness trackers available. Speculations are rife that its successor model that is dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Band 1S is likely to be announced on Nov. 11.

The purported Xiaomi Mi Band 1S is expected to come with an optical heart rate sensor. It will be placed on the bottom side of the device that will come in contact with the wrist of the user. A heart rate scanner is likely to consume more battery life. Hence, the Mi Band 1S may offer lower battery life than the predecessor model, Phone Arena reported.

According to Venture Capital Post, NFC is also one of the rumoured features of the Mi Band 1S. The original model lacked a touch support on its display, but the new model is likely to feature it.

It will also be able to track sleep patterns in a detailed manner. Xiaomi is going to retain the design of the original Mi Band on the upcoming successor model. Rumours also indicate that Mi Band 1S will be released with a price tag of 99 yuan (AU$21).

The cheaply priced Xiaomi Mi Band managed to gain huge popularity across the globe. In the second quarter of this year, about 3.1 million units of the Mi Band fitness tracker were sold. Recently, the Chinese brand slashed the price of the fitness band from 79 yuan (AU$17) to 69 yuan (AU$15). The recent price cut indicates that the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S release date is drawing near.

Singles Day is the biggest shopping day of the world and in this year it is falling on Nov. 11. Speculations suggest that Xiaomi will unveil it on Nov. 11. However, as of writing this report, there is no confirmation on the alleged release date of the Mi Band 1S.
