"X-Men: Apocalypse" is the concluding part of the “X-Men” trilogy, which started with 2000 film "X-Men: First Class." Director Bryan Singer recently revealed some details about the final installment in the “X-Men” franchise.

Singer told the press at the San Pedro International Film Festival that the upcoming film is likely to be longer compared to previous installments.

"The cut's a little long right now, but I think it's going to be a longer 'X-Men' movie,” he said. “The 'X-Men' movies I usually I keep under two hours, but this one I may actually let be a longer movie because it's sort of a wrap-up of six movies.”

The director dished that there will be a homage at the end of the film. He was also all praise for Michael Fassbender’s performance as Magneto, saying that his performance in one of the scenes made everyone on the set emotional. Singer confessed that he cried after seeing Fassbender’s performance.

"Michael Fassbender did something so wonderful in this movie... We're at the end of the scene, and he asked me not to call cut and when the scene was over, he continued and did something that made me cry in the tent; I've never done that before.”

Singer also praised James McAvoy and Oscar Isaac, saying that the trio [including Fassbender] are “… among the greatest actors in cinema, in their age category by far.”

Singer had also helmed the first two installments of “X-Men.” He, however, skipped the third and fourth installments. He returned to direct the franchise reboot, and have directed “X-Men: First Class,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past" and the upcoming “X-Men: Apocalyse."

“X-Men: Apolcalypse” opens on May 27, 2016.
