For quite some time now, the guess is on as to who would be the pre-order bonus for WWE 2K18. Leading the pack was the returning Kurt Angle, currently serving as WWE Raw general manager. With the former Olympian finally ending the suspense, the next question is whether he will be among the WWE 2K characters that one can actually use for the next installment.

As mentioned in a previous post, an official trailer for WWE 2K18 was released via social media which saw a mystery person vandalizing the WWE items in a special area hinting at a museum to hold artifacts tied up to several stars. Seth Rollins was later on revealed as the perpetrator, something that was uncovered by Kurt Angle himself.

Seeing such a storyline may not necessarily be new on WWE 2K18 though it begs to ask on the extent of Angle’s character. Will he purely be a general manager in the next WWE 2K installment or will he eventually put on his trunks and spring back to action? Being a video game, it may not be surprising to find the former Olympian to be eventually playable.

If so, Kurt Angle would join the ranks of potential WWE legends on WWE 2K18 once it is officially released. The former WWE champion will thus be joining former WWE legends who have come out as pre-order bonuses. The list includes The Undertaker, Ted DiBiase, Goldberg, Sting and the Ultimate Warrior.

So far, only Angle and Rollins have been officially confirmed. AJ Styles and Cesaro did undergo re-scanning prior to the release of the WWE 2K18 trailer but both are more than likely included. While most of the stars may hardly come as a surprise, there is more to expect from the next WWE 2K installment.

Aside from the expected return of the famed "Angle Lock" and "Angle Slam," WWE 2K18 games can step into the shoes of Angle as general manager – at least for the game via the much ballyhooed Universe Mode. The WWE brand wars will be in focus and it will be the duty of the player to make the show of his choosing (Raw or SmackDown) rank well with the WWE fans on the WWE 2K18 stage. While that remains to be made official, seeing the return of the general manager mode seems imminent as the 2K Sports developers try to find ways to improve on WWE 2K17.
