The final episode of “Wentworth” season 4 has seen the death of Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack), and some viewers are not pleased. Even the other cast members of the series, Kate Jenkinson (Allie) in particular, initially thought of the character’s demise as a big mistake.

In an interview with Curve Mag, the actress has admitted that her reaction to the death of Bea is possibly the same as the reaction of several viewers. Jenkinson has admitted that she was also surprised and wondered how the series would go on now that the main character was killed.

The actress has gone on to share that she initially thought it was a big mistake. “And I thought it was potentially a very big mistake. And who knows how season 5 will be received?” she said.

But Jenkinson has clarified that she remains confident as far as “Wentworth” season 5 is concerned. She said she is now in no doubt with what she has seen regarding the next season so far.

Jenkinson said she is specifically invested in seeing what happens in the prison post-Bea. She is sure that fans feel the same way.

"Wentworth" season 5 will surely see the return of Jenkinson’s character. The last season has seen her waking up from a coma while Bea was being stabbed to death by Joan as “The Freak” Ferguson (Pamela Rabe). There are reports that Allie might put justice in her own hands and decide to kill Joan to get even.

Allie felt safe and loved when Bea was around. Now that the love of her life has been taken away from her, she is expected to be obsessed with seeking revenge.

Furthermore, the actress has admitted in the same interview that she used to have a narrow view of her character in “Wentworth.” "If I’m not Bea’s girlfriend then who am I? which is a very narrow-minded way of looking at my character," she told Curve Mag.

But the actress teased that the death of Allie’s lesbian lover could make her a more interesting character in the show. She said her character will definitely be vulnerable, devastated and heart-broken next season. She said that sounds more of an interesting character than a happy girl with a crush.

The first season of the crime drama TV series originally aired on SoHo in Australia. Official air date for “Wentworth” season 5 is yet to be announced.
