‘Wentworth’ season 5: Liam Hemsworth’s casting still unconfirmed

There are multiple reports suggesting that actor Liam Hemsworth will be the newest cast member of "Wentworth." The series is coming back for its fifth season this year and there are high hopes that the actor would be part of it.

The death of Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) has left fans shocked in the final episode of the fourth instalment. While it may be a devastating event for many fans that have followed the life of Bea since the first season of the show, there is a possibility that her character will be replaced with a new cast member added to the series.

Jo Porter, "Wentworth’s" executive producer, has confirmed in a statement that Bea is really gone. She clarified that the decision has not been easy. “This decision was particularly hard as it meant also saying goodbye to Danielle Cormack,” she said.

Since the show has opted to kill its main character, it is likely that Bea’s demise will pave way for new actors to join the show. Talk is rampant that Hemsworth is the lucky one who would serve as a replacement for Cormack.

Hemsworth’s involvement in season 5 is never too impossible as Porter has previously assured that Bea’s death will open the gates for new characters. “While the shoes of Bea Smith will be hard to fill, with the start of season five the gates of Wentworth Correctional Facility will again open to a raft of potential new stories and characters,” she said in a statement (via News.com.au). She also thanked Cormack for being part of the show for four seasons.

However, Hemsworth being part of the show has not been officially confirmed by producers of “Wentworth” season 5. Even his camp is mum about his possible involvement in the show’s upcoming instalment.

Season 5 is expected to be released in a few months and there is so much anticipation about its possible storyline, now that its main character is dead. Hemsworth is allegedly joining the cast as a tough prison warden who will help Kate Jenkinson’s Allie Novak in seeking revenge for the death of her lesbian lover. The actor’s possible role, however, is not confirmed by any of the staff behind the show as. Hemsworth has starred in television series "Neighbours" and the children-oriented show, "The Elephant Princess."

The series aired in SoHo in Australia. No official release date has been set for "Wentworth” season 5 yet but this information is expected to be announced in the near future.
