The release date of “Warcraft” movie has been delayed again, the director has confirmed. The movie will now be released on June 10, 2016 in the U.S. The release date information for Australia and other counties has still not been revealed by the producers.

Confirming the news in a tweet, director Duncan Jones explained why the release date of the movie has been pushed again. In a post on his official Twitter account, Duncan Jones stated that Universal Pictures has enough faith in the movie to release the movie in summer. Summer is the period during which major blockbuster movies of Hollywood are released, apart from Christmas.

Universal Pictures is one of the companies involved in the production of “Warcraft” movie and is also responsible for its distribution. The other production companies are Legendary Pictures, Blizzard Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment.

Duncan Jones described the change in release date as both good news and bad news. Good news because the studio feels “Warcraft” movie “deserves to be a summer flick” and bad news because the fans have to wait till June 2016. The movie was originally planned to be released in December 2015, but was later moved to March 2016.

December 2015 is also the time when the next “Star Wars” movie will be released. The movie is one of the most highly anticipated of the year in the fantasy genre and may have been too much competition for “Warcraft.”

The “Warcraft” movie also has a sizable fan following, thanks to the popularity of the video games by the franchise. The movie is said to be focusing on bringing the video game characters to life on screen, while ensuring that the people who haven’t played the games also enjoy the movie. In an interview with CraveOnline, cast member Travis Fimmel confirmed that the movie was “close” to the game.

Travis Fimmel, known for his role in the TV series “Vikings,” will be playing Anduin Lothar in “Warcraft.” The actor said that while his role in the TV series helped him in preparing for the movie, there are differences. The upcoming movie is said to focus more on special effects and the actors wear costumes with so much armour that they can’t “get through a door” or lift their hands over their heads.
