The Walking Dead” season 7, episode 9 is set to return on February 12 (13 in Australia) and the second part of the season promises to be action-packed. Rick is definitely back, but can he get enough support to fight off Negan and his Saviors?

Spoiler alert: This preview contains plot details about “The Walking Dead” season 7. The season premiered Oct. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on Foxtel every Monday, 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

AMC’s synopsis for the second part of “The Walking Dead” season 7 reveals that while Rick and company have definitely decided to wage war against Negan and the Saviors, the Kingdom and the Hilltop people aren’t so sure yet. Yes, they also want the bat-yielding villain gone, but war is the last thing that they want. Rick is going to have a hard time convincing them to fight alongside him.

“[Rick and his crew] need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel and Gregory do not want bloodshed,” read the synopsis. “To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters are nothing short of remarkable.”

AMC further added that “The Walking Dead” fans should expect to see new characters in “incredible places.” Rick and company are also going to be thoroughly tested, and some kind of betrayal is bound to happen.

“Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan,” said AMC. “But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.”

The Walking Dead” season 7, episode 9, which is entitled “Rock in the Road,” is going to be longer than usual. The AMC show’s midseason premiere episode has a total runtime of 1 hour and 13 minutes.
