One of the favorite “The Walking Dead” characters, Daryl Dixon, was last seen in a plight that barely suited his stature. Won’t say poor Daryl, but the macho protagonist, in breach of his dignity, was put in a cell, stripped of his clothes and forced to eat dog food, all the while an irritating peppy song played loud on a continuous loop. Nonetheless, he escaped later in “The Walking Dead” season 7 midseason finale. So, will there be vengeance on the cards now?

Spoiler alert: The section below contains spoiler details about “The Walking Dead” season 7b. Read on only if you are too curious to know what will happen next, before the show returns Feb. 12.

With Daryl having reunited with his friends, actor Norman Reedus goes on to share insight into what can be expected from “The Walking Dead” season 7b. The dude is hella pissed off, Reedus said, talking about Daryl’s swelling rage, having taken Negan’s violent actions in the season premiere personally. Negan killed his friend Glenn and Abraham by beating their heads into a pulp. Now “He wants revenge,” Reedus said.

“He’s ready to fight,” the actor said further. “When he goes back in that last episode and hands Rick back his stuff, it was like, ‘Let’s go! Let’s go beat this guy up. Let’s go take what’s ours and fight this monster.’ So, you know, he’s in kill mode,” Reedus added, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Reedus also added that his character, Daryl, spent his time in the cell thinking about his bludgeoned mates. “He took it very personal, and felt like it was his fault and he was deserving what he was getting.” And that’s as far as it could go. “Now he’s ready to get revenge. He’s ready to go kill everybody.”

About “The Walking Dead” season 7b, Reedus said viewers are going to see a little fear in “the bad guy’s eyes.” Jeffrey Dead Morgan, who plays Negan in the series, is a creepy character with a barbed-wire wrapped baseball bat which he lovingly calls Lucille. “He's been walking tall long enough wielding his little toy bat around,” Reedus said. “Time to bring that guy down a notch."

“The Walking Dead” season 7b midseason premiere airs Feb. 12 at 9PM ET exclusively on AMC. In Australia, the show returns Feb. 13 at 1:30PM and 7:30PM on the Foxtel network. Viewers can also stream the show on Netflix premium and Amazon Prime Video.
