“The Walking Dead” is no alien to friends of Dorothy, with same-sex relationships being shown in at least two cases. Despite all controversies, it has been alleged there will be yet another gay character in “The Walking Dead” season 7b, which is scheduled to premiere Feb. 13 on Foxtel.

Apparently, fans of “The Walking Dead” will never learn the motive behind the on-and-off homosexual angle thrown into the show, largely believed as only to spice things up a bit. Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Denise (Merritt Wever), two major players from the show, were seen entering a budding romantic relationship somewhere in the series’ sixth season, and earlier, viewers witnessed Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Eric (Jordan Woods-Robinson) locking lips in a gesture which can only be described as romantic.

Recently, Cleveland.com has reported the possibility that another significant character in “The Walking Dead” season 7b will be revealed as a homophile. It has been alleged Jesus (Tom Payne) will be the odd one out.

That being said, for those who are more familiar with the character from the comic book, the news should not come as a surprise. Robert Kirkman, in the original story, had narrated Jesus’ romantic relationship with a character named Alex. Besides, the actor himself had confirmed his character’s sexuality during interviews.

Meanwhile, Kirkman, in a Reddit post submitted some two years ago, talked about Jesus as a character. “In my opinion there should be more awesome gay people in fiction because there are plenty of awesome gay people in real life,” he said. “I want Jesus to be a character where his sexuality is as unimportant as Rick or other heterosexual characters.”

Excited to see Jesus as gay? “The Walking Dead” season 7b midseason premiere airs Feb. 12 at 9PM ET exclusively on AMC. Australian viewers can watch the show on Feb. 13 at 1:30PM and 7:30PM on the Foxtel network. Fans can also stream the show on Netflix premium and Amazon Prime Video.
