After almost one month of suspense, the fate of fan favourite Glenn Rhee in “The Walking Dead” season 6 is finally revealed.

The AMC series’ latest episode title “Heads Up” finally addressed Glenn’s death in “The Walking Dead” season 6. Episode 7 showed Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, surviving the zombie attack by hiding under a dumpster, according to TVLine.

In episode 3 of “The Walking Dead,” Glenn fell off the dumpster and into a horde of walkers after Nicholas, played by Michael Traynor, shot himself. It left a lot of fans shocked and heartbroken that a longtime “The Walking Dead” character was killed off in season 6 of the hit AMC series.

Glenn’s “death” also sparked a lot of debate among “The Walking Dead” fans, with some claiming that Nicholas’ body shielded Glenn from the walker attack. Some fans even theorised that Glenn may be alive, although he would meet his death under the hands of villain Negan in a future episode of “The Walking Dead.” This plot is based on the comic book’s storyline and may soon happen, given the recent casting of actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan for the villainous role.

However, a few claimed that Yeun’s character was really killed off in episode 3, since his name was already removed from the “The Walking Dead’s” opening credits. According to reports then, the show typically removes the names of actors or actresses whose characters met their demise in the series.

Given episode 7’s revelation of Glenn’s fate, Yeun’s name is once again listed on “The Walking Dead” season 6’s opening credits.

Meanwhile, news of Glenn’s survival in episode 7 of “The Walking Dead” season 6 first surfaced last week, which teased that Yeun’s character took refuge under the dumpster and that Glenn made it to the outskirts of Alexandria. The episode 7 teaser released late last week also indicated that Glenn even managed to release balloons to signal other characters that he was alive.

Fans of “The Walking Dead” would need to tune in to the remaining episodes, before season 6's midseason finale, to find out if Glenn will be able to make it back into Alexandria to help fight off the incoming walker horde.

“The Walking Dead” season 6 airs every Sunday on AMC in the U.S. and every Monday in Australia on Foxtel’s FX.
