In what can be termed a true paradisiacal experience for foodies, the Taste of Tasmania turned out to be a gala event. Held at Hobart’s waterfront from Dec. 28, 2015 to Jan. 3 2016, this was one of the most exalting summer events.

The success and popularity of the festival can be estimated by the footfall at the venue. Despite summer solstice, nearly 250,000 showed up at the eight-day long event. Hobart council alderman Damon Thomas revealed that the visitors were slightly less in number, but the event was so far the best when it came to the lip-smacking food that had the true flavours of Australia, News.com.au reportssc.

“Everyone says every year it’s the best Taste. This year I’ve actually looked into the whites of their eyes and they are ­saying it’s the best Taste they’ve ever had,” the website quoted Thomas. In addition to this, the last day of the event witnessed a staggering number of nearly 40,000 festival-goers at the venue.

The entertainment schedules of the event was loaded with fun-filled activities and earned brownie points for the Taste of Tasmania 2015/16 event. The event had something in store for people from different walks of life. The Taste of Tasmania helmed in collaboration with Tasmanian Chinese Buddhist Academy of Australia showcased exceptional performances by Kids.

Other key highlights of the event included The Taste of Tasmania 2015/16 Entertainment Program, The Taste Theatre program of events, The Taste of Tasmania Food Tours schedule

Several musicians, bands & DJs left the guests awestruck with their performances at the Taste of Tasmania 2015/16. Thomas also revealed that the Taste of Tasmania upped the Tasmanian economy by $39 million.
